We all need our loved ones by our side, in the good times and the bad. For so many of us, the hardships of the past year have brought home just how much we rely on those we hold dear.

But right now, tens of thousands of people are denied that most fundamental of rights – the right to a family – because of how much they earn. The rule behind this is called the Minimum Income Requirement, and you can find out more about it here.

Telling people they don’t earn enough money to be with their family is cruel – you only need to have a heart to see that. But if enough of us take a stand, we can get the government to have a heart too.

That’s why this Valentine’s Day, we’re inviting you to celebrate love, and stand in solidarity with families separated by the UK’s unfair rules.

In the run-up to Sunday 14 February, we’re asking you to get out into the fresh air and walk, cycle or run in the shape of a heart. This could be in a park or around the streets in your local area, and can be as big or small as you like.

Use a fitness app to see the heart you’ve created mapped out – then, share your heart shape on social media and encourage others to #HaveAHeart too. If you’d like to take part but can’t get out and about, there are still lots of different ways you can show support! Click here for full instructions on how to take part.

We’re doing this because love in all its forms deserves to be celebrated. Because everyone deserves to have their loved ones by their side. And because together, we can make a change.

If you want to be part of it, you can access a full instruction pack here. Or, sign up for free below by clicking 'Book,' and we'll email you the resource pack.
