We’re delighted to welcome Emily Kenway to discuss her new book, The Truth About Modern Slavery (January 2021)

The Truth About Modern Slavery is a radical unpicking of modern slavery in all its forms in the UK. From men working in Sports Direct warehouses for no pay, to teenaged Vietnamese girls trafficked into small town nail bars, many immigrants find themselves trapped. And while our government paints itself as a crusader against this exploitation, in reality very little has been done.

Watch back as Emily Kenway is in conversation with Satbir Singh, our CEO, to hear more about the book, and the stark contrast between the government’s rhetoric on combating modern slavery and its track record of knowingly creating the conditions for slavery and exploitation to thrive.
