On Tuesday 7 June, we were delighted to be joined in conversation by Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan, author of “Tangled In Terror: Uprooting Islamophobia” and Ilyas Nagdee, co-author of “Race to the Bottom: Reclaiming Antiracism”.

We discussed why we need to get beyond understanding racism solely as hate crime, who benefits from systems that create and oppress ‘outsiders’, and how we can get beyond the pitfalls in current approaches to anti-racist campaigning.

Hosted by our Policy and Advocacy Manager, Zoe Gardner, we also asked how we as migrants’ rights campaigners can centre anti-racism and move beyond ideas of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ migrants as we resist the extraordinary cruelty brought about by the Home Office.
