In August + September I'm completing a marathon and an olympic-distance triathlon near to my house in North East London to raise money for JCWI.

The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) is a wonderful, independent charity, standing with migrants against harsh immigration rules to fight for justice. They do vital work supporting people to secure their status, be reunited with their families and escape poverty. And they campaign against unfair and discriminatory immigration rules which lead to destitution and the denial of people's human rights.

A donation of £20 helps ensure that nobody is denied urgent healthcare or the right to deliver their baby safely in an NHS hospital. And £50 can help keep asylum seekers from being deported to countries where they face violence and persecution.

Whether through JCWI's solicitors helping clients to secure their status, or through campaigners getting the public involved in the fight for fairer rules, every penny raised in sponsorship goes towards helping people who move.

Thank you so much for your support! Emma Winterleigh
